IPS Eris

(Empress 2) all ceramic restorations recently celebrated its third anniversary. The development of Eris and its addition to the Empress system has been widely accepted. Eris is the ultimate choice for full crown restorations and may also be used on a selective basis for anterior three unit bridges.

The Eris layering materials are the most enamel like materials available. The product has great wear characteristics and resists plaque. In addition, IPS Eris enables conventional cementation techniques. To date, we have been extremely successful with Eris. We (ADT) have now fabricated more than 7,000 units with virtually no breakage of full crown restorations. In fact, many of you have been routinely providing your patients with Eris crowns back to the second molar, with uncompromising results.
