Case Planning

Diagnostic Work-up Phase

Consistent and immediate laboratory involvement will insure a highly successful and predictable result.  The goal is for all parties involved to understand all case considerations throughout the process.

  • Pre-op models are produced in duplicate.
  • Casts are mounted on an adjustable articulator.
  • A functional diagnostic wax-up is created, using a layered wax technique.
  • The design elements are based on input from the smile analysis, photos and the Rx form.
  • Written prep consideration and/or occlusal analysis are included if necessary.
  • A Sil-tech matrix is fabricated from the diagnostic wax-up.  This can later be used for the mock-up and temps.
  • Upon request, a matrix is fabricated as an aid for tooth reduction.

Provisional Restorations

We provide provisional restorations that are based on the diagnostic wax-up. Providing a quality provisional restoration that simulates the contours and function of the final restoration leads to routine predictable success. We offer two types of acrylic temporary for long and shot term use. The short term provisional is a multilayered acrylic, while the long- term version includes a cast framework.

Surgical Guides

We offer several types of surgical guides; most of which are based on the diagnostic work-up phase. Logic should tell one that when prescribing a surgical procedure, up front treatment planning and development of a surgical guide should yield a superior result on a routine basis. We produce guides for crown lengthening and implant placement. We have also been fully trained in the Nobel Guide laboratory and computer aided design process.
